Chak De

Aaaah!! What a week was it. Things went to all time high to some lows too. Without a doubt the highlight was Team India becoming World champs, what an exhilarating display of courage and sportsmanship. Dhoni showed some fearless leadership and Yuvi providing the power pack punch. Finally India got something to show off at the world stage in sports. In fact this year has been an outstanding one for Indian sports with India becoming Nehru cup winners in football, then winning Asia cup gold in hockey , Sania mirza reaching out to her all time best ranking and finally India winning the Cricket world cup . Truly a Chak De year.
I was talking about this week. Yesterday I was watching all sizes of Ganesh jis being taken for a ride and finally being drowned. The famous Lal baghcha raja was simply beautiful. The statue had the godly grace, simply awesome artwork. This is the first time I saw anything like this. People were dancing like anything in front of the chariots of Ganesh ji. The procession passed through small streets of Mumbai that could accommodate only a rickshaw in best of times but here it was a truck being loaded by number of devotees and a huge Lord Ganesha. I with a couple of friends gathered courage and pushed inside the crowd, reached far enough to get a view of the lord. The place got crowed by the moment soon I felt as if I have became a wave in the ocean, and I was moving with any will. It was a scary sight as it could have easily led to a stampede but lord was there to save us. The security was good but no security can secure a crowd as big as this and I was wondering how sensitive the situation is, in these troubled times, if an event like this goes on smoothly then it’s a big success for the administration. Thank god militants didn’t target festivals like these or our administration was efficient enough to keep them away.
Was I talking about lows, well those were personal ones , with my girl punching me everywhere ,dont ask me why I have this black shade on my eyes

Relief of achievement

It is the natural cycle of life that after the Pain of failure comes the Relief of achievement, after the tears of a defeat comes the smile of a victory, after the sadness of a loss comes the joy of a triumph. That sweet taste of success that eludes almost everyone at some point of time in there lives tastes even sweeter after the bitterness of a defeat. Some one who has never seen a loss can never be as proud on the victory as some one who was once down in the dust but had the courage to get up, pick up the stuff and start again. Start again to fulfill his dreams , to fight to live another day .
As once said by a great man “ har ke jeetne waale ko baazigar kehte hai” the real victory is for one who has the last laugh, no matter how many times the ant has to fall before it gets to the top of the table to get that small piece of sugar, its ultimately the triumph that matters.
Success that arrives after some efforts, some losses, teaches us the virtue of patience, perseverance, it gives us the wisdom to believe in ourselves and try once again , ahh u failed again, no problem , try again but don’t make the same mistakes again . that’s the winning attitude a winner needs to have. A person can either be a winner or a looser similarly he can have either a winning attitude or a loosing attitude, he can either sit back and crib about what happened or face the mirror, look into his own eyes and say you are better than that ,prove it , go out and win it. And that’s what matters. “ jo jeeta vahi sikandar

Trailer of Global Warming

Ever wondered how people use to live when there was no electricity, when there was no air conditioner to beat the heat, when people use to go to sleep as soon as sun sets because there is nothing to do in the dark. Can we even imagine to live in such a state. Doesn’t sound that good , isn’t it, ok why not make more dramatic, lets subtract water from this scenario and add some more pollution to it. Raised any brows.. welcome to age of global warming.
I always knew about global warming but never gave it a second thought, not even after such hue n cry by UN scientists. Today I got a trailer of it and that has inspired me to pen my experience down. I am working in an IT company, don’t have to sweat too much , like sitting on my comfortable chair in AC cubicle, today there is no electricity, systems are working on UPS and I could barely stand it for 4 hours god knows how will people live when there is permanently no electricity. That’s not the end of my miseries, to top this electricity shortage I am facing a shortage of water back home, haven’t bathed for last 3 days, and thanks to my deo I am not stinking. How will people survive this for long.

I know what ever I described may not be due to global warming but it does show a trailer how it is gonna be once we completely loose out on water and electricity. Not to mention ever increasing temperatures. Quite quickly this planet is loosing out its natural resources and soon it may not be far when it starts loosing its most valuable resource… HUMAN BEINGS

Ticket to Bollywood

Ever since I am in Mumbai, bollywood city , I have became a movie buff .

I have seen almost all movies released during my stay in the city . Be it an action flick or romantic melodrama. I and my friends have created a kinda world record by watching even the worst of the movies.

Time and again I have proved my mettle by watching all the unwatchables . Sunday, June 17th was one of those days when I was at my best .I saw this desi go hippi luv story called Jhoom Barabar Jhoom. WOWOW … it would be an understatement if i call this movie a phenomena. It’s a revolution, it’s twister in the sea of worst movies ok that’s it . Man I just couldn’t understand what Mr Director wanted to show here. He calculated the permutations and combinations of all the actors. Thank god he missed lara PZ and AB bobby combination. But that would have made it an epic. The story/direction for the first half was an act of stupidity of the highest order, man it almost made me sleep, Mr. AB senior in his cow boy meets jack sparrow style was made to dance 4 times on same track within 2 hours 20 minutes. I think director is successful in making us learn jhoom barabar jhoom by heart. Though the song is cool but as it goes with everything else, over dose is not good. I don’t know whether the actors were deliberately over acting or director wanted to make something different. All the actors especially PZ can be seen making cheesy faces all the time. Bobby is such a ‘DARLING’ in this movie, looking so Goldie.

Lara looks stunning in “ticket to hollywood”. AB is good , I think he is the only highlight other than the stupidity.

My standard of movies has dived to such a low that I can watch almost anything and everything. I am waiting for Himesh Reshmaya’s Aap ka suroor so eagerly that himesh should be proud of me and should arrange a special screening for me and my friends. I really want to see what this guy is capable of other than his nasal classics and what could be the worst of flicks I can ever see. Hope aap ka surror will make my wish come true.

Pain of failure

How much does it pain when one fails in an act very dear to one, for which you are ready to put everything in line, about which you dream every day. All know it hurts and it hurts pretty badly to fail in something you never want to fail. Not that you ever want to fail in any of your ventures but there are some events which are just different. If this is not enough then tell me how much does it pain when one screws that dearest act oneself.
I did it, did it in such a fashion that I couldn’t have ever imagined, but I guess mishappenings can never be thought of before they actually happen.

It hurt me so badly that I didn’t knew whether I was walking or flying , I couldn’t control my legs , they were numb. I felt like crying but tears won’t come out, I felt like shouting out loud but mouth won’t open. Vision was blurred, brain was dead , didn’t knew what had hit me , but it surly struck me hard. Everything felt lost, everything seemed meaning less, somehow I just picked up myself from breaking down in the middle of the road hired a cab and got back home..

Took some long breaths as it felt something is stuck inside my throat, drank some water looked blankly at the ceiling for 10 minutes, first drop of tear rolled down my cheek, eyes were closed and everything was dark inside … no thoughts , no feelings , no life . Before I could have jumped in deep valley of depression first and only burst of tears flowed , I cried , cried like anything. Trust me it helped.

It was bad , I lost again … when I should have won, but then every looser thinks like this. There is something better in store is how an optimist thinks and I am an optimist. I am not a looser. I won’t drop weapon just because I lost the second round. I will get up, I will fight, the beast bleeds and I will make it pay this time.

One Confused Self

Kya yaar life mei kuch rakha nai hai, boring ho gayi hai, roz subha utho office jaao din bhar kaam karo aur ghar aajao, ye bhi koi life hai saala college hi acha tha…………………….. ****flash back**** ……………………..Kya yaar roz subha first lecture itni jaldi kiu hota hai saale sone bhi nai dete….. abe aaj to 15 tareek hi hai ,itni jaldi paise kaise khatam ho gaye shit yaar ye kya life hai apna job hoga to atleast ye prob nai hogi……………………………
Sounds familiar??? I think these are common words of an average Indian. How confused are we, we went to school then to college and finally with a job but it doesn’t satisfy us. The other side of park always looks greener and the craziest part is even if we have been there and lived it.
How wonderfully can we act to show that contentment, that’s the norm of life today, we are smart people, we know its not worth cribbing about the past so we don’t spell those words but deep down inside they are still pronouncing themselves. If I talk about myself I know how masterfully I enacted the role of a I-KNOW-IT boy, my parents and friends used to think that I know what I want to achieve in life and how to achieve it because seldom did I gave them an impression that I am troubled and I don’t know the reasons for my plans.
Everyone talks about aim of life, what do you want to do in life, is it so easy to find that ,well if it is then I am a total failure because I don’t think I am still very clear where I want to reach. But is that only with me, am I the only one unsure of destiny or there are others like me, when I look around to find answers I feel so glad to know that I am not alone, in fact almost every other guy is like me. We all might know the path to follow but none of us know the destination it will take us to.
Every coin has two sides, if I am not certain about the destination; it some times feels so exciting to pursue the unseen, unheard treasure of life. Who know where the hell we land up but isn’t it exciting to play blind. Yeah it is and it kicks the optimist inside me to see what is in store for me.
Till we don’t call it ‘SHOW’ let the blind continue.

You looking a bit confused.....Aaahhh we all are same

They did it once again!!

They did it once again.

Team India, what can one say about this star studded team, with three batsmen having scored more than 10000 ODI runs, two batsmen having strike rate close to 100 and what not.
When we see them play there is just one expression ‘AAAH’, wait did that sound an aah from a mesmerized fan, naaaah not this time, it was a painful cry of a fan praying for team India, waking till 3 am just to see his team through, I am sure its not just him ,there must millions of other fans like him. What did he get in return of all the love he has for his team : A team who cannot even qualify for the second round of the worldcup. A Team that cannot even play out full 50 overs in a do or die match. A team so good that a minnow having total number of runs less than one man can come and romp them easily. A team that does not have a belly to put up a fight. A team that only promise but never deliver. It’s a killing blow for the fans like me.
Is it just a game of cricket??? Think again , when an event can cause people to come out of there homes to burn effigies when there stars does not perform, when a nation stops working when there team has an important match, when people buy products just because there stars have endorsed them, I don’t think its just a game anymore . Its our pride, our love, our strength, it gives us a smile when our team win, we celebrate like its another diwali when Sachin hits a century. We cry when sachin gets out in 90s. We get angry when saurav does not get a place in the team. Naaah its not just a game its much more then that.
I am an avid fan of Team India and cricket, I don’t know whether I should use ‘am ‘ or ‘was’ after this debacle. How can they play like they did in this world cup. No they just don’t have the right to put no fight and come home like a loser.
How can they play like that is such an important game. How can a player of Sachin’s caliber and record fail like that, people use to cry about him not performing but still we can never prove that he does not play, he has the numbers on his side. We have been running from this for so long but its true Sachin is not a big match player. Can anyone remind me when was the last time he made it big in a final or in a match as crucial as the one against Sri Lanka , may be I have a poor memory but I just don’t remember a match since 2000 when Sachin scored big runs in a final. The man has got so much talent that scoring runs is nothing for him , he is a run machine and his record speaks for itself, but I think its proved now that he does not have will and temperament to fight it out in a big match. Look at people who have made it big like him , look at Ponting , Lara , Kallis or for that matter even Dravid, they all play when it matters the most. Sachin really disappointed us. But actually its not his mistake its because of Airtel and sunfeast biscuits that all this happened. Sachin had to run around all the kids, ab how can you expect him to run around so many kids and still preserve the stamina to run on the field , sunfeast should make it a point not to make him run so much and Airtel, God how can you do that , how can you take away Sachin’s contract at such a crucial time, its because of airtel that Sachin had to go around and search for a new buddy.
What can I say about dada , may be law of averages got to him, he played so well since his return but packed his bags when he was needed the most.
Sehwag, My God what should I say about this guy, he was terribly out of form still played like a champ against Bermuda and was playing so well even against Sri Lanka but why in the name of God does he always commits suicide, I know that’s how he plays his game and we all love it when he scores, but he can’t commit suicide when his team needs him. He is losing his mind with his hair, or may be hair with his mind
Dhoni, amazing , what a player, he wants to replace Gilchirst as best keeper batsman, God only knows how the hell he will do that with the way he played against lanka and Bangladesh. I think its not his fault , actor Kunal Kapoor is the culprit, its him who said in movie HATTRICK ‘ bahgwan kare India saare match haare aur ye saala dhoni to har baar zero pe out ho’ terrible how can he do that to our Dhoni, no way don’t you know Dhoni is the best hitter of a tennis ball. Arre he learnt all the tricks on a tennis court when he was trying to find out how to be in ads. That’s when he got this idea of playing cricket, 7up is also equal partner in crime, it was because of fido that this happened . Fido you are gone dude!!
Its great that we have lost, it saves so much time, till other teams are busy fighting for that stupid cup our team can endorse more stuff. May be soon you will find Sachin running after dogs requesting them to eat dog food. Or may be Sehwag smiling in hair and care ad. Dhoni might join Manish Malhotra the fashion designer to help him create better dresses. See how much Indian economy will boom when these heavyweights decides to work for it.

May I live to see a team which does not have big names but atleast put up a fight .
Forget about winning a world cup, hope we get a team which is expected to reach the second round but it goes to semi finals.
We don’t want a cup; we want to see our team fight. LADEGA TO JEETEGA

Cricket mania 2007

In the season of world cup if I don write anything about mah favorite sport then that would do grave injustice to my love for the game. World cup 2007 everyone seems so excited about it, they say this could be the most exciting of the world cups played till now. The teams in this world cup are very well matched in terms of overall strength but if you peep inside each camp you can see the difference among them.

Even after getting beaten by poms and kiwis the kangaroo team is still the favorite to lift the cup purely on the fact that it is the only team who has talent, confidence and experience of winning the most coveted trophy. They have a very strong batting lineup with batsmen for all pitches though I must say there bowling isn’t that great a force anymore but still good enough and under the leadership of world cup winning captain they are certain to be a force. Mr cricket Mike hussey should be the man you should look out for.

Closing to the aussies are the South Africans they are a bunch of super confident blokes. There bowing is probably the strongest in terms of experience and form but lack of a good slow bowler might prove costly in the middle overs. There batting lineup though a very long one still does not have expertise in playing slow bowlers on slow pitches. Needless to say they are the best fielding side in this cup. My man from that team is Mark Boucher.

Kiwis are another team who are really high on confidence after beating the aussies. Another team with great fielders. There strength as always are the all rounders. Though going great guns at the moment still I don’t fancy them to be the team to beat.

Jacob Oram is the player to watch out for.

The team which I think could go all the way is Sri Lanka. They are exceptional on slow tracks and with agile fielders in there ranks and bolwers like Murli and Jayasuriya they are a very strong unit when fielding. With the bat also they are very strong in middle and end overs when slow bowlers are operating and if the prediction of slow pitches all the way proves to be correct then even there top order will be handy. Sanagakara is the man with great ability both in front as well as behind the stumps.

Other good teams like Pakistan, West Indies, England all are good but unpredictable teams they might just cause an upset in super eights to change the face of semifinals but on paper a bit weaker.

Well O well my fellow country men will murder me if I don write about the most exciting team of the cup, no prizes for guesses, its our own India, Why I said the most exciting team is because this team is the most experienced team of this tournament and have the fire power to lift the cup. As always the team is studded with some big stars each of which can win a match single handedly. Leading the charge will be Sachin but I think most important players will be Yuvi and Dhoni. They are young and are proven match winners. Dada at the top is a real bonus for us simply because the amount of experience the man posses in pacing an innings is unmatched. Bowling is one department which is always considered as weaker but with in form Zaks and Bhajji things are looking brighter. Fielding is one department where this team is lagging but team India should be able to make up for it on other fronts. I ll be watching all 11 players closely but if I have to pick one , I ll go for the Wall skipper Rahul Dravid, with his captaincy and new role as floating batsmen he is ought to give much needed flexibility to the team.

Minnows or the new entrants should do justice to the there selection and should play good competitive cricket.

To sum up this article I can only say may the best team win, and hope Team India is the best.

Mumbai Vs Delhi

After staying for over a year in Mumbai I think I am in a decent position to write about it. the time since I stepped on the lands of Mumbai this topic is always there on my mind and I use to be ready at all times to put a fight for sadi dilli , but as I have stayed longer in Mumbai I have realized that its not all that bad a place. Apart from being metros there are not many similarities between the two cities with Delhi being more materialistic and Mumbai being more glamorized. Delhi live to see all kinds of weathers to there extreme, on the other hand if you like wearing winter outfits, you will die praying for one cold day in Mumbai. Delhi can be laid back at times, be it a match between India and Pakistan or rains (whatever it has to face) whereas Mumbai doesn’t stop for anything or anyone be it rains or a bomb blast in local trains. Life in Delhi has a tinge of coolness to it on the other hand life in Mumbai it’s a struggle a day. In Delhi you can wake up at 8, read newspaper, have a nice breakfast without thinking of any traffic jams or missing 9 o’clock train. Where as in Mumbai it’s so easy to roam around the city even at 12 midnight, this city really never sleeps be it 12 midnight or 4 AM you can find a rick(auto for delhiites) and the best part is auto drivers doesn’t argue over meter reading.
One of the major difficulties for any outsider in Mumbai is traveling in local trains, it’s a struggle everyday, the trains are so packed that you can easily get lost among the perfumes used by fellow commuters.
Food is quite expensive in Mumbai and some how the food also stands in between north and south(just like geography), we get vada and idli and not parathas for breakfast. It seems all the cooks are from Karnataka as the distinctive taste of north Indian food prepared in south Indian style is always present. If I am talking about food how can I forget about ‘BAI’, how beautifully does Mallika Sherawat sums it up in Pyaar ke side effects, ‘bai aadhe time to aati hi nai aur har cheez mei kari patta daalti hai….’ Also I want to add har cheez mei extra raai bhi daalti hai .
Mumbai’s night life is rocking; pubs discos and even chaopati are amazing. I think this is a major point which distinguishes Mumbai from other cities even Delhi does not have such an active night life.
People in Mumbai are very spirited even as I say that each day in Mumbai is a struggle for a Delhiite like me, I must say it’s the spirit of people here that keeps them going.
How can any article written on metros be summed up without mentioning about fashion and GALS…As I have said earlier Delhi is very materialistic so the girls from the national capitol likes to show off with different kinds of make ups and hair styles where as in Mumbai, gals very subtle. Delhi gals are any day more beautiful than there Mumbai counterparts but gals in Mumbai possess great bodies. I think I should end this here before any female gets offended.
All in all both are great cities both have different lifestyles.

Some staggering facts and figures.

Mumbai's population density is 28,834/KM sq. where as its total area is 437.77 KM sq
Delhi's population density is 9294/ KM sq where as its total area is 1483 KM sq.

P.S: Author is a hardcore Delhiite.

Is your religion the best??

This may be the most controversial topic of all but today I felt like touching it. Religion, is there anything called best religion or good religion or bad religion? On one of India most famous portals I read an article on Hindu girls being forcefully being converted to Islam after reading it I some how was getting bad feeling for Islam but I corrected my feelings immediately its not Islam its some of the people who do all this for reasons better known to them .
Everything could have just ended there had I not went ahead and read a comment given by one of the reader. He first of all rubbished everything saying that no one can be forcefully converted and then he went on to say something which bothered me so much that I decided to pen it down.
Is there any religion which is better than other or is there any religion which is not good? When I was a kid I was told that all gods are one and if I am not wrong religions are made by god themselves then how can religions be different. I don’t know about any religion which preaches violence or which restricts anyone’s freedom then why do we need to force anybody.
The guy went to say that hope India became Islamic republic; well god knows how that will solve bigger issues and will there be sanity every where once that is done, in that case Pakistan should be most prosperous of the countries and we all know how far it is from being prosperous.
I hope to see a world which is free from thoughts like these. World where there is freedom to choose what ever one feel like choosing. World where sanity prevails and people stop claiming there religion is best. Hope I live to see that world.

Sony ericsson w800i

Sony ericsson w800i

Candy bar as i call this instrument is an amazing gadet. I bought this phone some 10 months back and from then on its been fun listening to music and its amazing sound quality. The handset is made as a walkman phone and is fullfilling its promise of providing fantastic sound quality specially mega bass and equlizer, sony's specialization in music player must have helped them in making this set.
As far as basic features of a mobile phone is considered this set has most of them and most of them are easily accessible thus making this handset very user friendly. Though some of the basic features are limited in this set , it has limited space for sms and contacts so for people like me who are sms addicted sometime face trouble with limited space.
Shape and size of the set is cool , physical specs are good, much much lighter and smaller than the N series of nokia. This set comes in one color only ( white and orange) some people may like it but i usually prefer blacks and slivers. The sound quality while making a call is amazing.
Set can support upto 2 GB memory stick and the best part is that it does not slow down the phone.
The battery is good easily works for 2 days .
Pros : great music player, good memory capacity, good sound quality.

cons : Signal reception is weak.
